Chandrapur in Nagpur District of Maharashtra has got a new address much to her delight! The joy of the people is not unfounded as now they have an address with the Lord’s name engraved called “Sri Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra”.

 

Sri Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra is a community centre built as a multipurpose centre in Chandrapur.  It is a duplex building with the ground floor having facilities that can be used for ceremonies like weddings, get-togethers etc. The first floor has a beautifully constructed Altar for Bhagawan and a prayer Hall wherein devotees can offer prayers, conduct bhajans, meditate and use for common samithi activities.

 

Sri Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra is constructed on the plot size of 252 Sq. Mts. The hall size is that of 36 x 36 sq. ft. while the Slab Area is 45 x 45 sq. ft. miraculously all the perimeters sum upto a total of 9, the Divine number!

 

The inauguration of Sri Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra, Chandrapur Sunday, took place on the 11th April 2010 at 11:00 am. Chief Guest Shri. Sudhir Bhau Mungantiwar [M.L.A. Ballarpur (Chandrapur) & State BJP President] graced the function with his wife. Other dignitaries present were, Shri. Wadegaonkar [State Zonal Co-ordinator, SSSSO (Nagpur Zone)], Shri. Prabhakar Sawarkar [District President SSSSO, Chandrapur], Shri Vivek Jaiswal [Youth Coordinator], Shri. Ajit Bhave, Shri. Ganesh Iyer from Mumbai , Shri. Vasudeo Rao from Pune and Shri. Sachin Puranik and Smt. Subhashini Rao from Nagpur.

 

Veda chanting started as soon as the Chief Guest Shri. Sudhir Bhau Mungantiwar & his wife Smt. Mungantiwar arrived at the center. This was followed by the Inauguration ceremony by Chief Guest by cutting open the ribbon tied on the door of the Main Hall at the first floor.

The chief guest then came down to the stage that was arranged in front of Sai Kendra where hundreds of devotees, invitees and office bearers and members of Sathya Sai Samithi, were eagerly waiting.

 

 Shri. G.Raj Prasad, was the master of the ceremony and he invited the guests onto the stage and requested them to light the lamp kept in front of our beloved Bhagawan’s photo.The function started with welcome and brief description of the dignitaries present on the stage, followed by Veda chanting by Bal Vikas students. A welcome song was performed by Smt. Chaitali Khati and Bal Vikas students which was followed by brief description about the activities in the district by Shri. Prabhakar Sawarkar.

 

The Chief Guest Shri. Sudhir Bhau Mungantiwar then spoke about remembering God all the times in our lives. A shawl and memento was presented to the couple as a token of love. The next speaker was Shri. Wadegaonkar who elaborated on the entire activities taking place in the Nagpur zone and also spoke about the importance of building Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra at Chandrapur.

 

Shri. Vasudeo Rao spoke about Bhagawan’s mission and vision and the activities that run across the state. Shri. Sachin Puranik, Zonal Bal Vikas Coordinator expressed his views and gratitude to Bhagawan for his immense blessings and compassion. Shri. K.S.Matte, Samithi Convenor, Chandrapur expressed his vote of thanks and invited the guests to have Swami’s Prasad (Lunch) that was arranged for all the guests and invitees.

 

On the next day the devotees of Chandrapur got together and performed pooja at the new premise setting the ball rolling for the Sathya Sai Gramin Seva Kendra which will be witness to lot of memorable times in years to come. All in all it was a very meticulously planned & executed event by each and every devotee in Chandrapur under the Divine Guidance of Beloved Bhagawan!
