VALEDICTORY SESSION
The Second Convention of the Sathya Sai Schools was inaugurated by Shri. Shivajirao Moghe, Minister of Social Justice,
Maharashtra and Guardian Minister for Nagpur. Over 176 participants from all over the country converged in Nagpur
in what can be described as the heart of India. The State President of Maharashtra Shri Ramesh Sawant, State President,
Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashtra welcomed the gathering and said that it was the leadership and devotion of
Shri V. Srinivasan All India President of Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisations that has been instrumental in bringing together
all the heads of the institutions. He exhorted everyone to participate whole heartedly for practical application of educare
principles in schools.
The three day programme began with Dr. B. G Pitre, Director, Institute of Value Education, India setting the tone of
the conference by laying down points on which the deliberations were to take place while recapitulating the decisions of
the first convention held in 2006 and the World Conference in 2008.
Shri V. Srinivasan delighted one and all by carrying good tidings from Prashanthi Nilayam that our dear Bhagawan
had blessed the 3 day programme. He declared that the great distinguishing aspect of the present Avatar was that HE
would not destroy evil minded or wicked persons but instead bring about transformation of mankind so as to enable man to
realize his innate Divinity.
He reiterated the fact that the objective of Sathya Sai Schools was to mould the students
into men and women of upright character, reflecting excellence in all spheres of life making them worthy instruments in
the Divine Mission. He urged the faculty to become role models worthy of emulation for their students so as to lead them
to Divinity. He traced the evolution of Educare which had its beginning in the Sri Sathya Sai Bal Vikas programme in 1960. He emphasized
the need for integrating value education with the conventional academics. He also provided valuable inputs and guidelines
which have been enumerated in the action plans.
The next speaker Shri Nimish Pandya, District president of Mumbai, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation in his own
inimitable style sought to unravel the mystery of Educare that would equip the students with equipoise and balance to
face the challenges of life. He said that the success of the programme rested on the teachers and hence the dire need
for maximum resources to be dedicated to their training and development.
Shri Paranjpe, Director of Sathya Sai Schools, Madhya Pradesh took over the reins from there to elucidate the practical
aspects of application of educare in school by citing many enlightening examples. The inspiring talks set the ball rolling
for the panel discussions that followed. These were all highly interactive sessions where pertinent issues like the Spirit of
Mgt of Sathya Sai Schools, the Strategies to be adopted for Upgradation, the Standards of Fiscal Discipline and the Role of the
State President, State Co-ordinator and Trust Convenor were discussed at large.
The panel discussion on the Spirit of Management of Sathya Sai Schools voiced the need for personal commitment to the
ideals of Sai, to be in tune with His Omnipresence and reflect this spirit in all our actions.
The panel on Strategies of Upgradation of Sathya Sai Schools sought to relieve the monotony in the curriculum by evolving
innovative techniques to bring about all round excellence to maintain the highest standard of education. The discussion on the
Standards of Fiscal Discipline centered around mobilization of resources, prioritization, importance of budgeting plans and
prudence in fiscal management. The paramount importance attached to the involvement of the Sathya Sai Organisation in Sathya Sai Schools
was the subject of the panel which went on to discuss how the efforts of both need to supplement and complement each
other to fortify the Sathya Sai Schools.
Compliance with State and National Rules & Regulations in the context of Right to Education Act, 2009 was elaborated in
detail by Shri J Cheema, State president of Delhi, Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation with a view to keeping the
participants abreast of the legal developments and its implications. There was active participation from the audience
who enthusiastically sought clarifications on various issues. The highlight of the discussions on Accreditation and
follow up plans was the suggestion to set up an Internal Quality Assurance Cell to make extensive study of recommendations
of the Accreditation Committee for implementation
The Panel members duly examined the various problems and deficiencies with the help of interesting case studies
and came out with concrete recommendations. The All India President, in his concluding address expressed his deep
gratitude to Bhagawan for making this convention possible. He said he was truly overwhelmed by the love and hospitality
of Nagpur Sevadal. He motivated the participants to continue the work with greater momentum for the vision of the conference
to fructify. Dr Pitre, while proposing the vote of thanks described the Nagpur Sevadal as embodiments of divinity who could
perceive God in all the guests gathered.
