Other Beneficiaries
At the concluding function of the Free Jaipur foot and Caliper Camp held at Dharmakshetra between 26 – 28 March 2010,
the tears of joy was not only writ on the face of the beneficiaries, but the people who had been blessed with this
opportunity to serve were also truly overwhelmed at the Grace of Bhagawan Baba for making them worthy instruments in His Divine Mission
Whenever the Lord has descended on earth, he has always showered his love on the blind, the lame and the needy. When
God sent His son Jesus, the blind, the maimed and the sick flocked to him like sheep and were cured by His love and grace.
In His earlier avatar as Shirdi Baba, Bhagawan cured the afflictions and ailments of several people. In His present
avatar, Bhagawan is not only guiding, guarding, protecting and saving people from all ailments both physical and mental,
but out His infinite Compassion and Love, He has given us this golden opportunity to serve the needy. In Judaism, the greatest act of charity is that which makes the recipient self-reliant and this is the motive
behind every activity of the Sri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation. Baba says, the four S’s to Divinity are Self-sacrifice,
Self-Confidence, Self-Satisfaction and Self-Realisation.
The programme commenced with the lighting of the lamp by Shri Suresh Pai, a very senior executive of IndusInd Bank.
Indusland Bank had co-sponsored this event. Vedas chanted included verses from Chamakam which comprised of prayers for
the physical health of the various organs. Shri Kamdar welcomed the gathering and thanked Chief guest. Shri Suresh Pai
for being ever so gracious in supporting a good cause. He expressed his gratitude to Shri Mehrotra for his motivation
and the State President of the Shri Sathya Sai Seva Organisation, Maharashtra, Shri Ramesh Sawant for his unstinted
support.
Shri Kamdar paid glowing tributes to Shri Vyas, of Bhagwan Mahaveer Viklang Sahayaka Samithi who had made it his mission
in life to bring a smile on the faces of the afflicted. While 83 patients were catered to in the Camp, the number of
legs and calipers distributed amounted to 88, some of them being given both the legs. Baby Roshni Gupta who was a
beneficiary in one of the previous camps ran across the hall to display how life had returned to normalcy after the
fitting of the artificial legs.
The sight of several small children and people from all communities who had benefited in this camp was a heart rending
scene. The tears of joy seen amongst the ones present, irrespective of the fact they were not related to each other reinforced the
injunction “Vasudaiva Kutumbakam” (the whole world is One family).
The Chief guest Shri Suresh Pai, an epitome of humility, reiterated that “Jana Seva is Janardhan Seva”. He said that
we should grab every opportunity to do some seva. The State Trust Convenor, Shri Viyay Bhaskar emphasized that the need
of the hour was the mantra “Service to man is Sevice to God”
The State President, Shri Ramesh Sawant thanked the gathering for the wonderful opportunity bestowed on the organisaiton
to serve mankind. He said, “Hands that help are indeed holier than lips that pray:” He exhorted the beneficiaries to be
of some help to any needy person, transcending barriers of caste, creed and religion. He said that if everybody looked
for an opportunity to help, it will create a chain of good deeds and it was our prime duty in life to help the needy.
District President of Mumbai Shri Nimish Pandya said that the bond between the Lord and the devotee was reflected in the
courage displayed by one in meeting problems and challenges in life. He said that the participants present there were
symbolic of Courage. He heaped praises on Shri Mehrotra for his youthful exuberance to do seva without any ceiling.
He paid tributes to Shri Vyas for having dedicated his life to a good cause. Shri Pandya cautioned the sevaks to do
service in a spirt of surrender so as to be worthy instruments in His divine mission. He assured that bliss will
certainly be ours if we assign the doership to the Lord. He concluded by expressing his heartfelt gratitude to Bhagawan
for making this happen and said that the doors of Dharmakshetra was ever open to all.
The programme concluded with the Divine Aarti.
